A Mahalo From the Prospect HS Robotics Team
On behalf of the Prospect High School Robotics Team (#2813), the “Gear Heads”, I’d like to convey our appreciation to all of the Hawaiian teams (as well as all other competitors like us mainlanders, Bogalusa, Halcones, Lagablab), the Hawaiian Regional organization & volunteers, BAE Systems & NASA Sponsors, the Governor and Lt. Governor. The gracious outpouring of warm welcome and exuberant acceptance of our mainland team was so very heartwarming. It was like becoming a part of a large family. Your gracious and open inclusion into the event made the whole trip so very worthwhile and memorable. You can count on seeing us again….and again…and again.
We would particularly like to extend our appreciation to the Farrington High School (#2504) and Punahou High School (#2090) Teams who warmly selected the “Gear Heads” into their alliance for the most exciting challenge that we’ve ever experienced. It says a lot about cooperation and teamwork among the alliance of these young teams that permitted them to go all the way to the final match.
In addition to my summary appreciation, I’ve managed to capture a couple of the team comments that they wanted to have communicated…
Mack- “What a great state, and culture and ambiance? Let’s stay!”
Chris- “I enjoyed coming to the Hawaii and was glad to participate in the competition.”
Ryan- “Thanks for all the hospitality and help!”
Daniel- “I really enjoyed coming out an being in your alliance. We had a pretty good team.”
To all of you who have included us in your emails about the events, thank you. It’s like being a part of the family, even after the competition. Mahalo!
